IV FRUSEMIDE AND IV IRON IN THE COMMUNITY AND HUBS

Ms. Norma Caples, is an ANP at University Hospital Waterford. In this webinar Norma talks about the use of IV frusemide, a loop diuretic, in the community for patients who are experiencing reduced effectiveness of other diuretic treatment or need faster action. Norma will evaluate the practical implications of expanding a service to include IV frusemide alongside IV iron and discuss some of the clinical data alongside the costs and savings of this approach.

Dr Rajiv Sankaranarayanan is the HF pathway improvement lead for Cheshire and Merseyside. In this webinar he presents his research and work into providing an improved HF pathway in one of the most deprived areas of England. His methods include launching a new app, public screening and other ways to encourage patients to engage with their healthcare providers, which they may be less inclined to do in deprived areas. See the progress Dr Ranjiv and his team have made in the last few years in improving the HF patient pathway.

Dr Paul O’Hara, Dr Helen Cooney, and Ms Cara Murphy explore two patient cases involving cardiology- and nephrology-related morbidities.
